After 2 weeks of sub-zero weather (between North Dakota and MN), it warmed up for 3 days this week. But winter is back with a vengeance with snow and bitter winds. After shoveling snow this afternoon, I came in and looked at the temps. Minus 12 windchill. Brr!
Mug Rug Update
I thoroughly enjoyed the hot chocolate and tea mug rug drawings that were shared with me. They warmed my heart! If you would like to join you the Learning EQ Facebook group, you can request membership here.
Here are some of the completed renditions shared on social media this week..
If you missed the tutorial, you can still watch here.
Snowflake Sampler Quilt
This week we are going to collect blocks from the EQ block library that can remind us of snowflakes. We are also going to collect fabrics that remind us of snow as well. Your collection can be completely different from mine -- but the goal is to have approximately 15 snowflake blocks.
If you would like to work along with me, color your snowflakes and save them to your Project Sketchbook. Next week we are going to use a custom setting to showcase the sampler blocks.
Here are my colored snowflakes -- all from the EQ8 Library with only a couple of modifications (as outlined in the video). Tech Know Quilter's Update
We are off to a roaring start with the Tech Know Quilter's EQ8 training program. The January session has been all about working with Fabric Collections and members have been busy grabbing images off their favorite fabric manufacturer's websites. For those that started on January 3rd, they will be working with photographing, scanning and importing their own fabrics next week.
This is a great opportunity to unleash the power of Electric Quilt the Easy Peasy way. What is the Easy Peasy way? Training delivered in bite sized increments (think 5-10 minute videos plus written step by step instructions). You will receive 13 lessons a month -- delivered directly to your inbox. It's not too late to join the fun. And no need to worry about catching up. After you enroll, you will receive three lessons a week (delivered on Monday/Wednesday/Friday). I love your short how to videos. I just received EQ7 and want to become familiar with it before I upgrade. Your tutorials have helped me to push my curiosity and explore the program further than I would’ve without your gentle tone and clear explanations

Loved this lesson. Created two quilts with this technique and wanted to send but could not see how to attach the file. Comments are closed.
