Would you like to see my Facebook live reveal of the newest class offering in Tech Know Quilters? Watch here.
Similar to EasyDraw, PolyDraw creates pieced blocks. However the difference stops there. Within PolyDraw you will draw complete patches rather than a series of intersecting lines and arcs. In this class you will explore blocks that work better in PolyDraw along with a number of custom set quilt designs to highlight these blocks.
All of this will be presented in 13 Easy Peasy video tutorials of 5-10 minutes. A video tutorial plus detailed step by step instructions will be sent to your inbox every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Subscription Membership Program Monthly Cost: $30. For added savings, you may purchase a block of 3 or 6 months.
If you would prefer to start with a different Tech Know Quilters class, please feel free to drop me a note after your purchase.
Individual Tech Know Quilters classes may be purchased for $40 here. (These purchases are not tied to the subscription program.)
So when I created the Fabric Symmetries quilt in Electric Quilt two weeks ago, I thought - "Wouldn't this make a perfect cover for a personal greeting card."
I also decided my note card needed a coordinated back to the card. This was created using Electric Quilt as well. I will walk you through the Vistaprint process as well as the Electric Quilt process in this video tutorial. And shortly I will have 40 cards on hand. I think that should cover me for the next year (or two). Tech Know Quilters Members Share Their Creativity
There were many wonderful quilt designs shared in the Tech Know Quilters Private Facebook group this last week. I am so impressed with this awesome group of quilters. Check out the slideshow for a sample of some of their great works of art.
Electric Quilt Books
EQ8 books are back in stock and available for purchase.
During my last blog post, I shared how to take a piece of fabric and create a some kaleidoscope-like images in the Image worktable. When I originally played with this a number of years ago, I loved my images. But got stuck on figuring out what to do with them.
Watch the first video here to see how to create these works of art.
If you have questions on how your use these images in an actual quilt, then this video tutorial is for you. Let me share with you how I convert the images to fabric and highlight them in a quilt design. I will also share how to print out these images directly on fabric. Tech Know Quilters Bargello Quilts Spotlight
Coloration of quilts is not my forte. I can spend hours playing with fabrics in Electric Quilt until I get something I like. I will admit that I struggled a bit with this in creating the Bargello class, because good bargello quilts are all about fabric selection and placement.
I am so proud of my Tech Know Quilter membership who are totally stepping up to the coloration challenge. I have been totally blown away with the quilts that are being created. And they are only on Lesson 4. Let me share a few with you. My apologies. Some of the names are a little hard to see in the caption bar. Thanks to Beth G., Holly W., Jean H., Laura W., Martha W., Pat M., Paula M., Sharon O., and Tiny M for sharing their quilt designs in the Tech Know Quilters private Facebook group. Have you every purchased a piece of fabric and found it was too pretty to cut up? Me too!
In my tutorial this week, let me share an option for creating an original work of art with no cutting required. Yes -- you can become an artist with this simple tool! You can either work with a fabric swatch in EQ or a photo of your own fabric. (Hint: For those of you in Tech Know Quilters we covered importing fabric in the Working with Fabric Images module.) For this tutorial, I decided to play with a fabric from the May 2018 free fabric of the month download from Do You EQ? called Fiesta Fun. This collection was designed by Dana Willard and is manufactured by Art Gallery Fabrics. So be sure to ask for it in your local quilt shop. Click on the link to access the collection from the DoYou EQ? website.
During my next blog post, I will share some thoughts on how we can use these pieces of art in an actual quilt. So if you aren't subscribed to my newsletter, now would be a great time to sign up.
