![]() This one is a bit of a reach. The actual name of the block in Block Base is "Shooting Star". I thought it was a good representation of Biathlon as this sport involves cross country skiing along with marksmanship. For the free rotary cutting instructions, please click here. I did add a few seams to make this block a lot easier to piece. I always go on a cross country ski trip to the North Shore of Lake Superior. The trip often coincides with the timing of the winter Olympics. Many years ago (when my nephews were young) they were watching the biathlon on television. They were very impressed that "Aunt Kari" was not only skiing, but carrying a gun and shooting at targets on her vacation. It was hard to disillusion them with the harsh realty of "no gun" and "slow moving skiing" which involved frequent falls down steep hills. Happy quilting.
