![]() I selected a block called "Stickly" to represent Ice Hockey. I added a few lines to assist in piecing and to make the "hockey sticks" face off in the four corners. Click here for a free rotary cutting chart (12" size). Who would have guessed that the final teams would be Sweden and Canada? I recall watching the Miracle on Ice team in 1980 and I think the press was wondering if this year would be a replay of that momentous event. Maybe next time. Until then, happy quilting. Kari

Growing up in Minot North Dakota meant that I took curling as a gym class in high school. So this is a sport I can say I have "experience" in. ![]() The block I selected to represent this sport is the "Rolling Stone". This was from the Classic Pieced section of the EQ Block library. In curling you throw the stone down the ice and try to get close to the target. As it "spins" or "rolls" the sweepers try to assist with the final placement of the stone. Click on the photo for a pdf of the Electric Quilt cutting instructions. Block will end up at 12" finished size. I would love to see photos of any finished blocks. ![]() The official name of this block is Criss Cross. I found this in the Seminole Piecing library within Electric Quilt. Click on the photo for the EQ rotary cutting instructions. Block will finish at 12". When cross country skiing, you frequently need to herringbone to get up hills. As you can see from the photo below the marks left in the snow, create "criss crosses". As a write this, we are in midst of another winter storm. So I though I would do my own personal demo of cross country skiing and the criss cross steps -- down my driveway. I'll guarantee that doing the quilt block is easier! Happy quilting. Kari
