In Minnesota we had a cold (and snowy) start to April. But shortly we will be able to put away the winter coats, mittens, boots and shovels and take out our raincoats and umbrellas.
To build the anticipation for spring, I have a developed a mystery project. I hope you will join me as I guide you through the process of creating the April Showers project using Electric Quilt 8. Here are the blocks and quilt center that we will create this week.

April Showers Free Piecing Instructions
With the April Showers mystery Electric Quilt project and quilt, I am teaming up with Tina Dillard the owner, designer, teacher and publisher of Quilting Affection Designs.
I will share with you how to create the quilt in Electric Quilt, and Tina will share with you how to actually make the quilt on her blog. She will post both written instructions and tips via video. Tina specializes in using the Studio 180 Design tools and I was super impressed with her tricks for piecing these blocks and the quality of her instructions. You can learn much more about her on her blog. While you are there, please consider signing up for her newsletter. Click here to get instructions for piecing the umbrella blocks in this week’s video tutorial. As a teaser, here are her first blocks. Shoot for the Stars with EQ8

Absolutely. Just print the foundation patterns directly from the quilt worktable.

If you want a consistent "sky" fabric you will need 3/4 yard. The rest would be easy to scrap. The final project will end up 23 x 35.

I love your teaching style. You don't rush, which gives me time to follow along on my EQ8. Plus you are just a really great teacher. You make perfect sense in what you say and do. Comments are closed.
