Would you like to draft your own quilt blocks?
Have you been frustrated with your skills in drafting blocks? Maybe the lines weren't "quite straight" or you couldn't figure out how to set up the "right" grid to draft your block. Or did you have to guess about what snapping options to use? Or maybe you found the “perfect” block online. But then realized you wanted to piece it a different way. Maybe you want rotary cutting instructions or a foundation pattern. Or maybe you want a different size to incorporate into a different quilt. With Electric Quilt you can redraft these blocks.
This class will focus on how to “read a block” and then come up with the most efficient way to draft it with Electric Quilt. The blocks in this class are those that can be done in a “grid” format – basically just like drawing with a pencil and graph paper. Within Electric Quilt these blocks are drafted within Easy Draw.

Because each session builds on the previous work, it not only provides a new skill, but also reinforces previous learning.

If you have taken an Introduction to Electric Quilt class, or completed my free Catch the Waves two week program, you are ready. Knowledge that will assist you in a successful course experience includes basic navigation within Electric Quilt (can you View Sketchbook, Add to Sketchbook and select Work on Block). basic coloring tools, and printing quilts and blocks.

What’s Included?
- 30 separate video lessons e-mailed over six weeks (one lesson a day, Monday-Friday).
- Instructions for drafting over 50 blocks in Easy Draw.
- Access to videos demonstrating the drafting of each block for up to 12 months after purchase.
- Written instructions to supplement the videos.
- Access to a Private Facebook group only for those in the Easy Peasy Easy Draw class. This will be a chance to ask questions and share photos of your work from the class.
Class Structure
- Purchase the course here.
- The course starts the day after you enroll -- so you can get started immediately.
- The daily email will provide you with a link to a short video (most are under 5 minutes) you can watch online. The video will provide you with step by step instructions to learn a new concept and or draft a block within Electric Quilt
- Save all the emails in a folder, so you can refer back to the documentation and watch the videos again. The private link in the email is the only way to access the videos.
- Ideally you will complete one video a day -- but I know that life can get in the way of even the best planning. As a result, I have decided not to send e-mails on the weekends. This will provide you some added time to catch up on any missed days.
- You will receive an invitation to a private Facebook group. Only people who have purchased the Easy Peasy Easy Draw class will have access to this group. In the group you are welcome to post comments, converse with other students about the class and ask questions.

What level is this class targeted toward? This class is designed for beginners who have a basic understanding of Electric Quilt. If you have taken an Introduction to Electric Quilt class, or completed my free Catch the Waves two week program, you are ready. Are there any pre-requisites for the class? You should be familiar with your computer or have access to someone that can help with basic computer questions.
Does it matter if I am on a MAC versus PC? No Electric Quilt looks essentially the same for both PC and MAC users. Both should be able to successfully complete the blocks using the instructions in the videos.
How will I access the videos? The daily e-mails will contain links to the videos plus any added instructions for completing that day's assignment.
What if I didn't receive one of the e-mails? Most of the time these may be located in spam or junk folders. First check there. Also note that some e-mail providers may delay forwarding the e-mails for up to 48 hours. To minimize the potential issues. add Kari.Schell@onpointquilter.com to your address book. What if I started late? Once you enroll in the program, you will receive your first e-mail within 24 hours. Each e-mail in the series will follow approximately 24 hours later.
Must I be on Facebook to Participate in the Class? No. The private Facebook group is an option for those that want to interact with other students and ask questions while going through the program.
Are the videos downloadable? No. However, they may be replayed over and over again. You may also download the handouts which provide step by step instructions of the information presented in the videos.

- EQ Stitch - absolutely
- EQ7 - absolutely
- EQ6 - yes; however your software will look different that what is on the video. Also, you may not save your imports of block images as part of your project.
- EQMini - no; this software does not include the Easy Draw module.
